The Maxxis Rekon is a very voluminous tire that you can use for daily touring, shredding in the forest and on all-mountain trails, but can also cope with detours into rougher terrain. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed for riding without a tube with sealant, but like all TR tires can also be ridden with a tube. Maxxis recommends the Rekon primarily on the rear wheel, which is best combined with a Forekaster at the front, but also with coarser treads.

The Rekon is a fast rolling XC trail tire inspired by the Ikon, our most popular XC tire. Medium and technical terrain are its home. Wide center lugs provide good control when braking and accelerating. L-shaped side lugs provide secure grip in corners, even on loose surfaces. The Rekon has all the features to become just as popular as the Icon.

DUALCOMPOUND
Two different rubber compounds are processed into one tread strip. Maxxis plans the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired properties of the tires.

WIDE TRAIL CASING
The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape on today's wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and are too square on wide rims, resulting in less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 39 mm.
