With its 9-speed components, the new SORA range is more attractive and robust than ever. With its stylish and clear design, the SORA is aimed at sports and fitness riders. Shimano's newly developed Sora is aimed at a wide range of riders with its robustness, affordable prices and flexible solutions. Beginners and experts alike will appreciate the comfortable 9-speed groupset on their road bike, fitness bike or urban bike. For first-class function, the new Sora adapts many technologies from the top groupsets. The black-grey finish of the components has also been adopted, which ensures an elegant and high-quality look.
The Dual-Control shift/brake levers with internal cable routing offer exactly the right setup for sporty road bikes. They can be adjusted in grip width and are compatible with "New Super SLR" brake callipers such as the BR-R3000.
NEW SUPER SLR
SLR stands for SHIMANO Linear Response. The new SUPER SLR technology is based on smoother operation of the brake caliper, lever and cable and optimizes brake response and modulation. The lever features the SERVOWAVE function. This allows the pad to reach the rim quickly. A long lever travel is then available for the actual braking. The brake can therefore be well controlled. SLR is the decisive factor in SHIMANO's dual pivot side-pull brakes being able to brake more powerfully than conventional side-pull brakes.
DUAL CONTROL LEVER
DCL stands for DUAL CONTROL LEVER (DUAL CONTROL LEVER). It has braking and shifting functions and is easy to operate. The improved ergonomics are probably even more important for the high standard than additional gear ratios. The technology of the new shifters brings the stability of our MTB technology and works so precisely and smoothly that it is possible to shift gears at the front and rear with just one finger. This really is a highlight of SHIMANO TOTAL INTEGRATION. To understand this, you simply have to experience it for yourself.
The dual-control shift/brake levers of DURA-ACE, ULTEGRA and 105 have been optimized and now feature, for example, a weight-reduced joint on the inside of the shift mechanism and integration of the shift cable for easier steering. The extremely compact and high-precision manufactured individual parts work together to achieve an unrivaled shifting speed.
OPTISLICK
OPTISLICK cables are provided with a minimal, uniform galvanic coating that enables more efficient cable routing and is characterized by excellent corrosion resistance.
REACH ADJUST
The brake lever is equipped with a grip width adjustment. This allows the grip to adapt to the size of the rider's hand, riding style or personal preference.
OT-SP41
The outer sleeve of the OT-SP41 is pre-lubricated with a special silicone lubricant along its entire length to enable fast, precise shifting. The OT-SP41 reduces friction losses of the inner cable to an absolute minimum so that the shifting system responds quickly and is effortless to operate. The rider is relieved by the elimination of shifting delays and high shifting effort, especially in terrain that requires frequent shifting or on long distances. The cable housing is available in eight different colors to cover as many requirements as possible.
