Organic brake pads are easier to modulate than metallic brake pads, but offer less braking power and wear out somewhat faster. The noise development in wet conditions and the thermal load on the brake is lower than with metallic pads. For all Avid Juicy models, BB7 and SRAM Komfy disc brakes.
Use organic pads if: the conditions are dry, you want good braking performance right from the start / Advantages: better modulation, less noise, shorter run-in time / Disadvantages: wears out faster, more weight due to steel backing plate.
