Sintered, metallic brake pads for Avid Code and Code5 disc brakes. Metallic pads have higher braking performance than organic pads. The pads also wear less. However, they tend to squeal in wet conditions and generate higher thermal loads on the brake.
Use sintered pads if: you ride downhill for a long time, the conditions are wet, muddy etc. / Advantages: better performance in wet conditions, less wear / Disadvantages: more noise, longer running-in period, not as much braking power at the beginning.
