The aluminum carrier is just as stable, but lighter than the standard carrier, thus providing an additional weight advantage.
Organic brake pads are easier to modulate than metal brake pads, but offer less braking power and wear out more quickly. The noise development in wet conditions and the thermal load on the brake is lower than with metallic pads. For all Avid Juicy models, BB7 and SRAM Komfy disc brakes
Use organic pads if: the conditions are dry, you want good braking performance right from the start / Advantages: better modulation, less noise, shorter run-in time, less weight due to aluminum backing plate / Disadvantages: wears out faster.
