HOW TO LUBRICATE YOUR CHAIN WITH GRAPHENWAX ®

INITIAL CHAIN PREPARATION:
Remove the chain from the bike or use a brand new chain and clean it with a solvent (such as White Spirit or Mineral Turps) by fully immersing the chain in the solvent for 20-60 minutes using the poly bag provided (use gloves). Shake the bag with a chain for 2 minutes. Remove the chain and allow it to dry completely (2-12 hours). Optionally, you can rinse the chain with 98% alcohol at this point to remove any remaining residue. Once the chain is dry, you can normally apply the lubricant as described below.

Solvent cleaning is only required the first time to remove the oils.
1. if the chain is dirty afterwards, you can clean it by simply pouring hot water on the chain and letting it dry. Cleaning the chain in this way will not contaminate the wax in the pot, making it useful for longer.

2. melt the GRAPHENwax ® in the crockpot (slow cooker) over medium heat as usual. Melt it completely. Our wax melts at about 70 ° C (160 ° F), but you should heat it to about 90-100 ° C (194-212 ° F).

3. dip the chain into the melted wax and wait until the wax buildup on the chain melts again. The best way to do this is to use a wire metal hanger by screwing both ends of the chain onto the hanger.

4. stir the chain carefully (top, bottom, left right) in the liquid wax (with the hanger) for about 3 to 5 minutes to ensure that the wax gets into the pins.

5. remove the chain, hang it up, carefully wipe off the excess wax from the side plates of the chain and leave it to cool for about 15 minutes.

6. after cooling, simply hold your chain in one hand and guide it between two fingers of your free hand (according to our video)

Warning.
Please remember that melted wax is very hot. Therefore, always wear suitable protective clothing, leather gloves and safety goggles. Never leave the crockpot unattended. Switch off the pot after use and make sure that the hot melted wax is not accessible to children or other unauthorized persons. Only use a crockpot (slow cooker) to melt the wax. Never use an oven, microwave or stove. Never exceed the temperature of 100 ° C. Never expose to an open flame.
Keep away from children.
Use in well-ventilated areas.

At what interval should you wax again?
The coating lasts approx. 450 km on the chain when the road is dry. The longevity of the coating is reduced in dusty / off-road conditions. When the chain sounds dry, it is time to re-wax. In rainy / wet conditions, the chain should be re-waxed after every ride. This applies to all melt waxes regardless of brand and cannot be avoided.
