The CN-M8100 chain is specially designed for the XT M8100 and Ultegra 8100 chainrings and cassettes. Thanks to cut-outs on the inside of the plates, the chain harmonizes perfectly with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) Narrow-Wide tooth profiles of the new Deore XT chainrings. The design results in a tighter fit of the chain on the teeth. Vibrations are avoided and the smoother chain run is not only noticeable when pedaling, but also manifests itself acoustically through a quieter drivetrain. Thanks to a new chromed surface in combination with the proven SIL-TEC coating, the service life of the chain has been kept at the same level as the M8000 chain, despite the smaller outer width.

The SHIMANO Deore XT 12-speed CN-M8100 derailleur chain was designed for the special HYPERGLIDE+ tooth profile of the SHIMANO 12-speed chainrings. DYNAMIC CHAIN ENGAGEMENT+ (DCE+) is the magic word, in which the combination of particularly narrow and slightly longer inner plates of the chain and the alternating tooth profile of the chainrings results in excellent chain guidance in rough terrain and very low running noise.
