The dual pivot or direct mount brakes impress with their performance and offer an enormous balance between stiffness, low weight and high deceleration power. Their slim design is not only visually appealing, but also allows greater clearance for tires up to 28C. The direct-mount brakes also enable aerodynamically favorable integration of the brakes in aero racing bikes. In addition to the front brake (BR-R9210-F), this also applies in particular to the rear brake, which is mounted on the rear wheel.

Dual pivot side-pull brake
Dual pivot technology results in weight-saving, compact and robust brakes. Dual pivot side-pull brakes have made considerable progress in terms of low tolerances, maximum torsional rigidity and high load capacity. Furthermore, the brake pads are 100% more durable so that the rider retains the high performance of the brakes for longer.

SLR-EV
SLR-EV is a new SLR with symmetrical dual pivot side-pull brakes. The short arm brake design uses two bearings and a roller to achieve greater efficiency in the pivot area and provide superior modulation and power when braking. Together with the BC-9000 brake cable, the new calipers offer 36% more braking force than SHIMANO's previous brake model. And we offer symmetrical 2-axis caliper versions as well as fork mount and chainstay mount versions.
