The new FD-R8050 has been redesigned and designed for larger distances between the chainrings without compromising on shifting performance. Fast and smooth shifting in all conditions is guaranteed, even when shifting to the large chainring while standing. With SHIMANO Synchro-Shift, the front derailleur shifts automatically when the rear derailleur is actuated so that both work together efficiently. Semi-Synchro-Shift works in reverse: the rear derailleur shifts automatically when the front derailleur is actuated, resulting in optimum front/rear gear positioning. At the same time, the Di2 auto-trim function automatically centers the derailleur around the chain, preventing chain friction as the chain moves over the cassette. This is how fast, precise and smooth your gear changes can be.
