The Shimano STEPS chain CN-E6090-10 is a special chain for E-bikes with a 10-speed drivetrain. It has been specially reinforced for high loads and is also available with 138 links. The SIL-TEC surface treatment of the inner and outer plates ensures greater efficiency and less wear. Please note that the directional CN-E6090-10 chains only work with a single chainring.

HG-X chains from Shimano are 10-speed chains with directional binding. The outer side has been optimized for shifting the chainring, the inner side for shifting the cassette. This ensures smoother gear changes and better overall drivetrain performance. As correct installation is crucial, Shimano has marked the sides of the chain.
SIL-TEC
SIL-TEC is a surface coating from Shimano based on fluorine particles. It leads to smoother, lower friction operation and less contamination. This reduces maintenance effort, reduces wear and extends the service life of SIL-TEC components.
