Shimano SLX cassette 10-45, CS-M7100045, Micro Spline, 12-speed

The Shimano SLX CS-M7100 12-speed cassette is characterized by its Hyperglide+ technology, which ensures high precision and smoothness as well as shifting speed when shifting up or down. Hyperglide+ also minimizes noise. CS-M7100 cassettes have an aluminum spider and an aluminum sprocket (the largest sprocket), which saves weight and contributes to durability. If the smallest possible gear jumps are important to you, then go for the 10-45 version. If you want to cover the widest possible range, then the 10-51 gradation is the right one for you.

At the same time as the Deore XT, SHIMANO is also adapting the compatibility of its 12-speed drivetrain to SLX level and, with the SLX CS-M7100 12-speed cassette, is launching a cassette with a particularly harmonious gradation. Just like the XTR and Deore XT sprocket set, it impresses with sprocket sizes from 10 to a gigantic 51 teeth and thus up to 510 percent range! The wide gear range should make the eyes of enduro riders in particular light up, as both steep climbs and fast sections can be tackled with speed and an adapted drift frequency. If you want to ride XC and marathon with particularly fine gear steps, you can opt for the slightly lighter 10-45 version. The jumps when shifting are even smaller here and merge almost seamlessly. Rhythm and propulsion are thus maintained in order to push for maximum propulsion while conserving energy. Optimized shifting speed without jolts during larger gear jumps is another advantage of the Hyperglide+ cassette at SLX level. To make room for the twelfth sprocket, SHIMANO has developed the Micro-Spline freehub, which replaces the previous HG freehub body.

Hyperglide+ / HG+
Hyperglide+ is the efficient further development of Shimano's Hyperglide system. These are climbing aids and specially shaped sprocket teeth that make shifting to larger or smaller sprockets smoother, more fluid and quieter. The system of small rivets attached to the side of the sprocket and milled or pressed-in ramps ensures that the chain is picked up by the next sprocket during the shifting process before it leaves the previous sprocket. Hyperglide+ is optimized for faster shifting and shifting under load and, in combination with a compatible HG chain, has a more efficient chain connection, holding force and power transmission. Compared to Hyperglide, the shifting time is reduced to a third and the pedal stroke is noticeably reduced. HG+ enables a completely new level of chain stability and therefore offers a safer riding experience.

Micro Spline
Micro Spline is an innovative tooth profile on MTB freehub bodies from Shimano. All Shimano 12-speed MTB cassettes with a 10-speed sprocket are equipped with Micro Spline freehub teeth. The significantly higher and finer toothing enables a stiffer connection between the cassette and the hub shell. The resulting larger contact surface ensures reliable power transmission, minimizes wear and prevents deformation of the freehub and sprocket.
