During the R&D process, Pirelli has succeeded in developing an innovative carcass material. Considering the significant performance improvement of this compound, Pirelli has decided to launch a new and improved P ZERO Race TLR. A new carcass solution has been used to work on one of the most important parameters in bicycle tires: rolling resistance. The new SpeedCORE carcass is a thin, airtight layer of rubber compound with aramid particles, which forms the first layer when viewed from the inside. The high flexibility of the rubber compound makes the tire faster and more supple, while the aramid layer ensures better puncture resistance. The carcass is completed by a 120tpi nylon fabric and a puncture-proof aramid breaker. The tread pattern, for which Pirelli's most advanced compound SmartEVO is used, guarantees maximum performance.

With the new generation of Pirelli's high-end road bike tires, the Italians are setting new standards. The tire was developed using the extensive experience gained from over 100 years in the motorsport sector and the know-how accumulated in the cycling sector. The use of a new carcass has improved the riding characteristics in all areas. Rolling resistance in particular has been reduced by 24% compared to its predecessor. The improved puncture protection also makes the P Zero Race TLR an all-purpose weapon for everything from fast training rides to racing at World Tour level. Another new feature is the relocation of production to Italy.

SmartEVO rubber compound
The new SmartEVO compound uses a mixture of 3 different polymers, each of which contributes a specific property to the handling characteristics of the tire. In this way, a balance can be achieved between properties that are actually contradictory.
The new SmartEVO compound therefore has perfect grip in both dry and wet conditions, coupled with extremely low rolling resistance.

Speedcore carcass
The Speedcore carcass consists of a thin, airtight layer and a rubber compound made of aramid particles that covers the inner part of the tire. The extremely flexible rubber compound makes the tire smoother and rolls faster. The aramid particles increase the all-round puncture protection compared to the previous version. The carcass is completed by a nylon fabric with 120 TPI and aramid breaker puncture protection.
