The 3C and eXCeption versions are particularly impressive on rocks and roots, even when wet. For very rough, rocky terrain, the IKON 3C is also available in the EXO-Protection version, which reliably protects the side walls while weighing less.

Low rolling resistance
This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very densely woven, lightweight and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains unchanged and is impressive.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of our TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting is successful on all rims with standard dimensions right from the first inflation and with little liquid. Like tires from other manufacturers, "normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, as the carcass fabric is very tight. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless mounting of other models is at your own risk.

Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months, depending on the amount used.

EXO Protection
This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very densely woven, lightweight and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.

3C MaxxSpeed
Maxxis' fastest 3C compound for XC and some AllMountain / Enduro tires is designed for the lowest rolling resistance thanks to the hard base and the fast compound in the middle of the tread, but also offers superior grip in corners, even in wet conditions, thanks to the grippy compound on the sides. The very long service life is also typical of MAXXIS.
