Technical details:

- Vectran? is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber with a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran? is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran? is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran? have enormous tensile strength at very low weight. Exactly the right properties to be used as a puncture protection insert in a top Continental tire. A Vectran? breaker is lighter, more flexible and provides more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran? Breaker does not affect rolling resistance.

Thanks to its DuraSkin fabric, the Grand Prix 4-Season can withstand even extreme loads. At the Paris-Roubaix race, the "Hell of the North", statistics show that riders equipped with DuraSkin tires have by far the fewest defects. Very high mileage with excellent grip on wet roads and at low temperatures also characterize the Grand Prix 4-Season. With a choice of 23 mm, 25 mm and 28 mm versions, the Grand Prix 4-Season can be adapted to different road qualities and comfort requirements. The double Vectran Breaker increases the puncture and cut protection to by far the highest values in the test comparison.

Vectran Breaker
The breaker is an insert under the tread of the tire to protect it from cuts or punctures. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and provides more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers without negatively affecting rolling resistance. Vectran can be found wherever extreme durability is required. Vectran fiber has five times the tensile strength of steel, is fatigue-resistant and therefore extremely resilient. DuraSkin
The patented and particularly light sidewall reinforcement of Continental tires is called DuraSkin. Tires with DuraSkin sidewall protection have to be able to take a beating. The high-quality polyamide fabric reliably protects the sidewall of the tire and prepares the tire for the toughest conditions. These tires stand out from the crowd thanks to their brown sidewall. This means that these tires can be used in the most adverse conditions. On messenger bikes, the tires slide along kerbs, on touring bikes they cross continents without rubbing through, in racing they have to pass endurance tests such as Paris-Roubaix.
