The professional gauge is designed for accurate measurement of chain wear. The wheel of the gauge is set to zero in the initial position. Insert the measuring pins between the chain links and measure the expansion of the chain by turning the wheel slightly. Read the expansion or chain wear on the measuring scale of the wheel in the range of 0 to 1.2 mm. The gauge is made for measuring 10 links of the chain. Repeat measuring process on different segments of the chain. Manufacturers recommend chain replacement if the expansion or chain wear is over 0.5% or 0.6 mm on the length of 10 links. Take into account the manufacturer's value specifications for individual chain types!
