The centering gauge is a test tool for checking the axle symmetry between the frame and the wheel rim. First, the desired distance, which depends on the wheel size, must be set between the sliding brackets. The center backrest is placed against the axle of the frame, the frame together with the sliding brackets is moved towards the rim so that the brackets are in contact with the rim. The backrest is then fixed with a screw and the other side of the wheel is checked. This allows you to determine if the frame is centered to the wheel rim. If the wheel is not centered, it must be centered.
The precise manufacture of the tool allows easy control of wheels of dimensions between 16 and 29", with or without tires.
