The Supernova M99 DY PRO is the first LED headlight with high beam function from Supernova. Thanks to the innovative control electronics, the headlight with its matrix of 9 power LEDs achieves light values of over 1000 lumens and 200 lux. Once fitted, the headlight is completely maintenance-free and illuminates the road ahead for years to come with an illuminance level that is always optimally adapted to the speed. During the day, the light sensor switches to a special 1W energy-saving mode, but you are still clearly visible during the day. The diodes for high beam and low beam are automatically mixed from the LED matrix, providing the perfect safety light during the day. When driving through a tunnel, the headlight switches to the bright, wide low beam with a luminous flux of over 600 lumens in a fraction of a second.

Such values could previously only be achieved by high-performance headlights for e-bikes. This increase in light output strengthens the most environmentally friendly of all types of bike - the classic "bio-bike" - and ensures equal safety on the road. Once fitted, the headlight is completely maintenance-free and illuminates the road ahead for years with a light intensity that is always optimally adapted to the speed.

At night, the powerful high beam function can be activated from a speed of 20 km/h (depending on the wheel diameter), which is signaled by an indicator LED in the high beam button. With up to over 1000 lumens, even fast descents become a wonderful experience. With its 200 lux illuminance, the headlight then warns of obstacles at a good distance. The high beam function illuminates bends much better than a low beam, even when the bike is tilted sharply. Supernova is implementing this absolute world first with an exceptional permit from the Federal Motor Transport Authority, which is granted to products whose functions are not yet described by a regulation but which achieve a significant increase in safety as a result.

M99 MATRIX MIRROR
The future is now! Based on scientific research by the Light Technology Institute at KIT and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the M99 introduced a lighting technology that sets completely new standards in bicycle lighting: an LED matrix, intelligently controlled and combined with a highly complex facetted mirror consisting of 99 individually calculated surfaces and designed for unprecedented brilliance. After years of development, it was thus possible for the first time to pack highly powerful automotive technology into the miniature format of a bicycle headlight.

ALUMINUM HOUSING
We use aviation aluminum for our housings because it is not only super-stable, but also has the best heat conduction properties. The better the cooling, the brighter the LED. Cooling fins on the housings increase the surface area, allowing heat to be dissipated more effectively. The housings are also anodized to be salt-water resistant and can withstand the most adverse conditions. Extreme tests in all seasons and climatic zones by ultra-cycling athletes who ride with Supernova lighting prove the outstanding reliability and durability.

LED COOLING
Maximum performance with the best possible efficiency is our credo. The enormous brightness values of our headlight systems can only be achieved through sophisticated cooling of the high-performance LEDs. Because the better an LED is cooled, the brighter it shines. The service life is also greatly extended by good cooling. The most important prerequisites for ideal heat dissipation include a careful choice of materials and a sophisticated design. Completely uninterrupted heat dissipation, for example, can only be achieved with a housing made seamlessly from a single piece of aluminum. In extreme situations, an integrated heat sensor also keeps the headlamp within the optimum temperature range at all times. Using computationally intensive computer simulations, our engineers find the most suitable way to dissipate the heat from the LEDs in advance. Our more than 20 years of experience with LED headlights comes into its own here.
