The new Shimano 105 R7000 groupset brings a new generation of 105s to the market. In addition to many similarities with the top groupsets, the upmarket entry-level groupset is intended to offer an enormously wide range of applications and race-proven performance. The Shimano 105 has always marked the entry into the field of high-quality, race-inspired component groupsets. With the new 105, this definition is now much broader and also includes the high degree of user-friendliness and customizability required for a wide range of applications.
A fundamental revision of the shifting mechanism helps the 105 ST-R7000 STI brake/shift lever combination from Shimano to achieve even faster and smoother shifting with significantly shorter lever travel. Compared to the predecessor ST-5800, upshifts are 24% faster and downshifts 8.6% faster. The large range of lever width adjustment enables an optimum individual grip position for different hand sizes and thus ensures ergonomic and intuitive operation of the shifters.
