At the heart of the Ultegra R8000 is the HOLLOWTECH II crankset, which reduces weight without compromising on stiffness. The beautifully shaped crank arm, which was adopted from Dura-Ace, is a tribute to the aesthetics of every bike. The new design also affects the position of the crankset in relation to the rear cassette, which offers more clearance between the frame and the guide teeth and therefore a higher level of shifting performance on bikes with disc brakes.
Crankset options include a standard 53/39T, semi-compact 52/36T, compact 50/34T and cyclocross-specific 46/36T.
