Synthetic resin brake pads offer reduced noise when braking in dry and wet conditions. However, wear is increased and temperature stability is somewhat reduced. Shimano uses aluminum cooling fins with steel inserts for these brake pads, which dissipate the heat generated during braking and significantly reduce the tendency of the brake system to overheat! The limit range can be significantly shifted.
