With their optimized tooth profile, the GRX 2x chainrings keep the chain in check even at the hardest speeds. When riding off-road, conventional road bike components quickly reach their limits on gravel bikes. For this reason, Shimano has developed its own derailleur groupsets for this type of bike to meet the special requirements of rough terrain.
The GRX chainrings are made of lightweight aluminum and are very solid in order to increase torsional rigidity and therefore durability under the forces that occur. As is typical for Shimano, climbing aids on the large chainring enable silky-smooth upshifting and downshifting in every situation. In order to better address specific gravel requirements, finely tuned gear ratio options with narrower gradations ensure a regular and fatigue-free rhythm when pedaling.
