Using the latest technologies of the Dura Ace R9100 and Ultegra R8000 road components, the Shimano 105 R7000 groupset offers additional versatility and improved performance for a wide range of cyclists. The shifters are ergonomically refined and match the slim design of their Ultegra predecessors, while the mid-length rear derailleur and 11-34 cassette extend the gear range. The highlight of the new 105 is the addition of hydraulic disc brakes to the standard range, which have the usual good characteristics of disc-specific Shimano components. The flat brake callipers are compatible with Ice Technologies pads and brake rotors from a diameter of 140 mm to offer the most powerful Shimano 105 groupset ever.
Shimano FD-R7000 front derailleur uses the innovative linkage design first introduced with the Dura Ace R9100, allowing for easier adjustment and fine tuning without special tools. The new design adapts better to the force curve of the hand to reduce the effort required at the end of the shifting process and also allows for more flexible cable routing. The front derailleur and rear derailleur have been redesigned for use on disc brake-specific frames, with a higher gear ratio without sacrificing shifting performance.
