The Monarch is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Its lightweight design not only offers silky smooth travel, but also a spring rate you'd normally only get from a much heavier coil shock, thanks to a redesigned Solo Air spring with updated damping control. So you get a durable, fully adjustable shock that smooths out even the most aggressive trails while saving weight for epic cross-country rides. In other words, the perfect balance of performance and efficiency. So don't be fooled by its looks. Like the wolf, the packaging doesn't always reveal what's inside.

Dual Flow:
Good damping must not fail, even on rocky terrain and after steep descents. That's why Dual Flow uses independent damping circuits for different pressure levels for big and small impacts. An adjustment knob can be used to set the rebound on the initial stroke (small bump) and a preset rebound on the final stroke (large bump) ensures perfect damping on any terrain. Adjusting the damping to your requirements is now child's play. In the RockShox world this means: simply click on the turtle or the "Jackalope".

Damping markings:
If you don't adjust your damping correctly, you might as well be riding someone else's bike. But why waste plastic clips or rulers to adjust the suspension again and again? The damping markings are printed directly onto the stanchions of the suspension fork and the damper housing for easy and precise adjustment of the perfect suspension. So you can give your mom the plastic clip and ruler back.

Solo Air™:
Solo Air™ is like a Buddhist monk. Thanks to the enlightened design, the positive and negative air chambers of your suspension forks can be filled with air at the same time via just one auto valve. This creates a perfect balance between them, like yin and yang. For a comfortable and predictable ride, you can adjust the lightest suspension fork on the market in just a few seconds.

Rapid Recovery™:
Who wouldn't want more travel for successive hits? Thanks to the Rapid Recovery™ system, the shock returns to its starting position more quickly after successive hits, giving the bike more precise traction. This more active damping system does not fail and ensures a ride with higher and softer spring stiffness. With Rapid Recovery, the rider benefits from increased travel for a smoother and more controlled ride on every stroke.
