Description

The Range Gen 3 handlebar from Pacific North West Components is made of trail-friendly material and is 800 mm wide.
With the industry constantly trending towards frames with longer reach, the Range Gen 3 focuses on minimizing back pain and wrist fatigue. The 10° backsweep in combination with the 5° upsweep are the result of extensive testing and enable perfect arm positioning, whether for comfort riders or racers. The aluminum handlebar is wider and, despite its larger diameter, 25 grams lighter than its predecessor. It can be individually shortened to a width of up to 740 mm using the cut-to-length markings. Additional positioning aids in the clamping area facilitate precise alignment on the stem.

Pacific North West - PNW Components for short.
The US-Americans around the founding team, Aaron and Emily-Stevenson Kerson, are no no-names in the bike industry. Both are not only passionate mountain bike riders, but also have a professional background in the world of cycling. Aaron worked as a product developer for Spezialized for a long time. PNW's claim and goal is clearly defined - to offer bicycle components of the highest quality at a fair price. Keeping overhead costs low, working directly with manufacturers and developing exactly what customers want. According to Pacific North West Components, this allows them to save money, which in turn benefits their customers. The product portfolio includes telescopic seatposts, remote levers, grips, stems and handlebars and the range is constantly being expanded with new innovative and practical components.

ERGONOMIC vs FASHION
While the industry tends to favor frames with longer reach and wider handlebars, the stretched position this puts the rider in is not always advantageous.

With a 10° backsweep and 5° upsweep, the Range handlebar creates a more ergonomic riding position that is easier on your shoulders and reduces wrist fatigue.

MATERIAL IS CRUCIAL
The Range is made of 2014 aluminum alloy (2014-T73 heat treated alloy), a trail-friendly material that resembles the resilient properties of carbon. However, aluminum is cheaper, more durable and less sensitive to crashes.

THE NUMBERS BEHIND COMFORT
While it's no secret that bike frame designers favor longer reach and we all enjoy the stability provided by wider handlebars, the new pressure points these trends have created for high impact areas like the old bird bones often leave your wrist out of the discussion. The Range handlebar addresses this issue with a design that puts you in a more comfortable position.

10° BACK-SWEEP AND 5° UPSWEEP This combination helps put your shoulder blades in a more neutral position, especially when climbing, and can help reduce unwanted wrist fatigue downhill.30MM RISE Like a good loaf of sourdough bread, the rise of a handlebar is another important part of the equation. We chose 30mm to keep your front end low enough on the longer travel bikes while providing good height for the increasingly popular 120-140mm travel trail rigs.
