The lightweight support of e-bikes puts a smile on your face day after day, but at the same time increases the weight of your bike. Going uphill is much more fun - going downhill, the extra weight and higher speeds present new challenges for both rider and material. In order to better meet the special requirements of e-bikes, Magura offers components specially optimized for this purpose.
With the MDR-P, MAGURA presents a brake rotor for performance-oriented riders and tough applications - from downhill to e-bikes and heavy cargo bikes. The two-piece rotor saves weight compared to the MDR-C and is also available for the first time in diameters up to 220 mm. A special feature of the two-piece rotor is the patented interlocking of the outer and inner ring (Dovetail Interlink Technology). The interlocking enables additional support on the inner ring in the event of thermal expansion of the outer ring. In contrast to floating discs, the torque is transmitted over the entire surface instead of just via the rivets. The result is increased brake disc rigidity and particularly direct heat dissipation under continuous load. Thanks to the new technology, the MDR-P is the strongest brake rotor in the Magura portfolio and still offers low weight and reduced vibration, perfect for e-bike and gravity use.
