Easton direct mount rings utilize a new narrow/wide design specifically tailored for road/Cx/gravel applications. The individual tooth profile has moved from the traditional symmetrical shape to a more directional design with the intention of creating positive chain roller engagement to aid chain retention, which is critical to prevent chain slippage and bouncing in rough terrain. Optimized for 11-speed drivetrains, but compatible with 9- and 10-speed chains as well as 12-speed Eagle and 12-speed Campagnolo.
