The Easton EC70 AX handlebars made of carbon, with a 16° flare and a weight of just 220g (42cm wide) are the top of the range for gravel use. Other handlebars with the proven MCD shape (Maximum Contact Form) only have an outward curvature of 4°. So why 16° here? Because, based on rider feedback and extensive testing, Easton has come to the conclusion that 16° provides a perfect balance between maximum curvature and efficient access to shift/brake levers on the upper and lower bars.
