ARC 1400 DICUT® DB The DT Swiss Aero wheelset for road bikes with disc brakes with a perfect blend of acceleration, aerodynamics and handling. The new ARC 1400 DICUT wheels with the AERO+ rim profiles also impress with the new 1400 DICUT Aero hubs. Available as a disc brake version in three different rim heights (80 mm, 62 mm and 50 mm), the wheels set a new standard in aerodynamics and handling. In close cooperation with the aero experts at SWISS SIDE, it was possible to reduce wind sensitivity in crosswinds and improve the overall aerodynamics of the wheels. In moderate crosswinds, the rider benefits from propulsion through the sail effect as well as from a stable aerodynamic position with full control over the bike. High-quality DT Swiss Aero spokes and the lightweight 240 DICUT Aero hub with the reliable Ratchet EXP system for a direct drive round off this wheelset.

Reborn Faster - this is the slogan under which DT-Swiss is launching the 2nd generation of its ARC Aero wheel series. With the new dominance of disc brakes on the market and the trend towards wider, tubeless tires, the starting point for the development of road bike wheels has changed significantly. When developing the wheels, DT-Swiss stuck to its AERO+ concept, which aims to balance sometimes contradictory requirements such as maximum speed and the best possible handling. The close cooperation with the aerodynamics experts from Swiss Side has also continued, who, in addition to 20 years of experience from Formula 1, have also been able to impress with first-class cycling innovations in the recent past.

New rim shape
With the greater clearance provided by the disc brake system, the rim shape of the ARC wheels could be made wider. While the previous profile resembled the widely used U-shape, the new profile is a combination of the classic V- and U-shape. At 20 millimetres, the inner width has increased significantly in order to integrate 25 and 28 millimetre wide tires in an aerodynamically favourable way and to be able to use the rolling resistance and comfort advantages of the wider tires. In a direct comparison in the wind tunnel, the wheels achieved top values in all relevant angles of attack. Thanks to the AERO+ concept, the new rims are not only fast, but the susceptibility to crosswinds has also been improved. This allows the rider to remain in an aerodynamic riding position for longer and to have to make fewer steering corrections in strong winds.

DICUT 240 hubs
At the center of the wheels is the latest generation of 240 DICUT hubs with DT Swiss EXP technology. In addition to a weight reduction compared to the previous version, the hubs have also become stiffer and offer aerodynamically optimized straightpull hub flanges and hub bodies. Thanks to the use of elaborate seals and bearing sizes adapted to the loads, the hubs do not require any adjustment of the bearing play. The Ratchet-EXP toothed pulley freehub system with its large contact surface and 36 engagement points ensures extremely direct and reliable power transmission.
