The pads are made from organic materials and bonded with synthetic resin. To improve the braking properties and reduce abrasion, the pad contains small amounts of metal particles. Nevertheless, the pads are largely organic, one could also say they are semi-metallic. This mixture results in optimum dry and wet braking values and also keeps disc wear to a minimum.
