Thanks to their aluminum backing plate with integrated cooling fins, SwissStop Exotherm 2 pads dissipate the heat generated during braking to the ambient air much faster than conventional brake pads. This effectively prevents the pads and brake disc from overheating and significantly reduces the risk of brake fade. As the braking performance of a disc brake decreases with increasing temperature, the braking performance is also higher and more constant compared to other pads thanks to the Exotherm 2 backing plate.
