With these brake pads, Shimano is using aluminum cooling fins on the brake pads for the first time. These dissipate the heat generated during braking and significantly reduce the tendency of the brake system to overheat! The limit range can be shifted significantly.
Compared to plastic pads, metal pads offer a higher braking effect, less wear and better temperature stability. However, they tend to generate more noise and increase wear on the brake disk.
J05A: Approx. 50 % better wear resistance compared to J03A
