Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 brake lever
The clamp of the Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 brake lever is angled, allowing the outer end of the reservoir to be supported directly on the handlebars in a clever way. The two contact points created in this way ensure significantly increased stiffness, which ultimately results in more direct feedback and therefore more braking power.

Shimano's SERVOWAVE technology, which ensures particularly good modulation, also serves to improve braking performance. Because the brake lever takes up a lot of braking distance right at the start of its movement, the brake pads make contact with the brake rotor more quickly and there is more lever travel to modulate the braking force. Accordingly, SERVO WAVE brake systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance and shorter free travel.

The BL-M8100 is 10% stiffer than its predecessor, even at high temperatures. The grip width of the brake lever can be adjusted directly without additional tools. Thanks to the I-Spec EV design, the Deore XT SL-M8100-I shift levers can be mounted directly on the brake lever.
