The hydraulic Shimano GRX ST-RX600 shift/brake lever offers ergonomics tailored to gravel use, both in the area of the bracket, so that it can be mounted on any type of handlebar core, and in the grip itself, which has a curved shape and an anti-slip coating that provides more control on constantly changing terrain. In terms of shifting performance, the 2x11-speed GRX STI levers are in no way inferior to the high-quality Shimano road bike shifters. Braking performance is improved by an 18 mm higher brake lever pivot. To meet the individual needs of the rider, the reach of the brake lever can be adjusted using a tool.

Ice Technologies
Brake fade impairs braking performance during prolonged uninterrupted operation. Shimano has introduced brake rotors and brake pads with Ice-Tech to create a cooling technology for consistently high braking performance. The brake rotor has a three-layer sandwich structure of stainless steel on the outside around an aluminum core. It radiates heat better and reduces the surface temperature. The brake pads, meanwhile, have aluminium cooling fins, which further optimize the radiation properties. The design of the disc in conjunction with the cooling fins results in a longer service life of the pad, less braking noise, less fading and also reduces the weight.

J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System)
In brake systems with J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated crush seal (olive), which makes installation and removal of the brake hose considerably easier.
